2020 Dream Major Scholars

On May 17, 2020,

The Pi Theta Lambda Educational Foundation would like to congratulate the 2020 DREAM MAJOR Scholars!

These candidates have displayed academic excellence, leadership, and achievements both in and out the classroom. Over the next few days, we will highlight the accomplishments of each individual scholar.

Unfortunately due to the COVID-19 pandemic a 2020 Scholarship Luncheon was not held. In it’s stead each Scholar was sent a gift card and certificate through mail and congratulated virtually or by phone.

Mr. Jason Dones

Congratulations to PTLEF Scholarship recipient Mr. Jason Dones! Mr. Dones has graduated from Ronald Reagan High School with a 100.99 GPA. He plans to attend to University of California, Berkeley to pursue a degree in Physic.

Some of his awards & activities include:

Several 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards in Engineering competitions. Involved in NSBE, DECA, UTSA pre-freshman engineer program, and LEAD Program. He had an internship at the Southwest Research Institute where he experimented on atmospheric ion propulsion for space travel. Founder of National Empowerment Alliance of America, a non-profit that encourages his peers to get involved in the community.




Ms. Kayla Mahler

Congratulations to PTLEF Scholarship recipient Ms. Kayla Mahler! Ms. Mahler has graduated from Judson Early College Academy with a 100.98 GPA. She plans to attend to Texas A&M to pursue a degree in Nursing.

Some of her awards & activities include:

National Honor Society; Key Club; Student Council; Class of 2020 Officer; 3rd Place at UIL Biology Science Fair; Congress of Future Medical Leaders Award of Excellence; Internship at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Junior Volunteer Program; Internship at UTSA Pathway to Health Professions








Mr. Ahmad Soueidan

Congratulations to PTLEF Scholarship recipient Mr. Ahmad Soueidan! Mr. Soueidan has graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School with a 104.81 GPA. He plans to attend University of New Mexico to pursue a degree in Biology where he aspires to become a Medical Doctor.

Some of his awards & activities include:

National Honor Society; Science National Honor Society; Technology Student Association; Peer Assistance Leadership and Service (PALS); Winner of Texas Teen Book Festival Essay Contest; 1st place in 2020 Technology Student Association Bio-Technology Regional Competition;







Mr. Jared Gibson

Congratulations to PTLEF Scholarship recipient Mr. Jared Gibson! Mr. Gibson has graduated from Robert G. Cole High School with a 104.16 GPA. He plans to attend to University of Texas a San Antonio to pursue a degree in Computer Engineering.

Some of his awards & activities include:

Class Valedictorian; National English Honor Society; Honor Society; Awarded Eagle Scout Award with Boy Scouts of America; Junior ROTC – Operations Officer; Honor Graduate with Pre-Freshmen Engineering program; Dedicated studies into classical music compositions.






Ms. Abby Huhn

Congratulations to PTLEF Scholarship recipient Ms. Abby Huhn! Ms. Huhn has graduated from John Jay High School with a 107.11 GPA. She plans to attend to University of Houston to pursue a degree in Managerial Business.


Some of her awards & activities include:

National Honor Society; Honor Society; Student Advisory Board; Yearbook – Editor; Recognized by Balfour in the “Great Shot Photography Competition”; Track & Field; Employed by Texas Sports Productions as a Production Assistant on live sports television programs.




Bry’Anna Navarro-Roberts

Congratulations to PTLEF Scholarship recipient Ms. Bry’Anna Navarro-Roberts! Ms. Roberts has graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School with a 98.1972 GPA. She plans to attend to Our Lady of the Lake University to pursue a degree in Child and Adolescent Counseling.

Some of her awards & activities include:

National Honor Society; International Club; Robotics Club; Architecture Club; Student Voice Advocacy; Architecture Club; Student Voice Advocacy; Texas Alliance of Black Educators.
