Community Marrow Drive
Spearheaded by the UNITED ALL FOUNDATION, Inc., a community marrow drive and fundraiser was held on March 15, 2014 at the Little Carver Civic Center. In support of this initiative, the Pi Theta Lambda Educational Foundation, Inc. provided volunteers and developed marketing materials for the event.
The program, coordinated by Ulton and Malinda Listenbee of the UNITED ALL FOUNDATION, Inc. resulted in nearly 50 individuals receiving buccal swabs to become added to the Be The Match ® national marrow registry. Most of the new registrants were from ethnic minority communities, which are underrepresented and highly needed for patients afflicted with blood cancers requiring marrow transplants.
